ICWCI is delighted to announce that the Clerk of Works and Site Inspector Handbook (2018 Edition) is now available to purchase.

This second edition has been written by the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) with the help of a group of construction industry experts. This timely arrival provides a practical companion for clerks of works, site inspectors and anyone with the responsibility of managing construction works on site. It contains important lessons for the construction industry and will help professionals to deliver quality construction projects.

The traditional clerk of works/site inspector role and their liabilities are explained, as well as the duties and responsibilities linked to a more contemporary construction setting; it explores the relationship between key stakeholders, providing a valuable insight into reporting and what to look for, check and test throughout the construction process.

The working group behind this new edition helped the ICWCI to incorporate important updates, expand on trade elements and introduce new sections that relate to ecological and environmental facets, and effective reporting for those with a nuclear specialism.

The ICWCI are indebted to the team of people who worked on the edition - the review group and RIBA Publishing.
