| The Institute exists to provide a central organisation for Clerks of Works, Site Inspectors and those of similar calling to protect and promote their professional, educational and social interests. It provides for CPD through seminars and local meetings, is heavily involved in the work of the Construction Industry Council, runs its own Awards programme, issues a monthly magazine to all its members and is the industry specific body in relation to a nationally recognised suite of NVQ’s. Clerks of Works ensure quality of both materials and workmanship within construction, remaining impartial and independent in their deliberations and recommendations.
